K.L.N. College of Engineering is the first self-financing co-educational Engineering College in Madurai, started in 1994 by munificence of philanthropist and well wishers in Sourashtra community which is a linguistic minority in Tamil Nadu. Shri. K.L.N. Krishnan was the Founder President. This college is managed by the committee of eminent industrialists and academicians with Shri. K.N.K.Ganesh as President and Shri. S.V.S.Shivnath as Secretary. This college has the approval of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

This college is situated on the outskirts of Madurai, 11 Kms., on Madurai-Nedungulam road. It is built in an area of 53.8 acres. The campus has multistoried buildings consisting of well provided class rooms, drawing halls, seminar halls, library, air-conditioned computer centres, staff rooms and student rest rooms. The infrastructure also consists of six double storied laboratory buildings and three single storied workshop and machine shop. The M.B.A. & M.C.A. departments are functioning in a separate, spacious, three-storied Post Graduate block of 40,000 sq.ft. Well furnished men's hostel, mess block, canteen block are also inside the campus. Separate hostel for women students is provided. Post Office, PCO with STD facility and Medical facilities are also provided. Transport facility is available.
