Ahead of his anticipatory bail hearing, 'tainted' Karnataka Food & Civil Supplies Minister Hartal Halappa has been admitted to hospital. Halappa has been admitted to a hospital in Shimoga after complaining of chest pain.
Halappa claimed he had chest pain while he was being questioned by the CID. The rape tainted Minister has been remanded to judicial custody till today.
Halappa surrendered on Sunday (May 9) after going missing for almost a week. Halappa had no other option but to surrender as the CID had given him till Monday to appear before it for questioning. His bail plea will also come up for hearing on Tuesday.
The former Food & Civil Supplies minister in the Yeddyurappa government has been under the scanner after his friends filed an FIR accusing Halappa of rape. Halappa has been charged under multiple sections of the IPC. While the primary offense is rape, he has also been charged with wrongful restraint as well as criminal intimidation by the CID.
