Intel to integrate mobile devices with Wireless-Display Technology

Intel Corporation, a world leader in computing innovation, is looking to integrate its wireless-display (Wi-Di) technology to handheld devices such as smartphones and tablet computers.

The Wi-Di technology developed by Intel possesses innovative capabilities of allowing the users to transmit videos and images from a computer to a high-definition television set by means of wireless connectivity. This new technology is expected to be available in mobile devices like netbooks, tablets and smartphones.

Earlier this month, on May 11, Intel CEO Paul Otellini had remarked at an investor conference that equipping all the Intel devices with this inventive Wi-Di technology would make it easier to view HD content stored on mobile phones, etc on larger screens.

Intel looks to incorporate this Wi-Di technology to all of its platforms thus enabling more efficient wireless communication between handheld devices and TV sets. Wi-Di makes use of software that takes advantage of graphics capabilities of Intel's Core processors.
